Foothills Regional Housing is monitoring progress on the FY 2026 federal budget and preparing for the possibility of a government shutdown. The government is currently operating on a continuing resolution for FY 2025, which is set to expire on September 30, 2025.
Two continuing resolution proposals to keep the government open failed to reach the 60 votes needed to pass. Congress is currently in recess, and the House is scheduled to remain in recess past the September 30 deadline to fund the government. Despite this uncertainty, Foothills Regional Housing is not a federal agency and our staff are not federal employees. This means we will not have to cease or scale back operations during a government shutdown, at least in the short term. |
