Below are lists of local and regional nonprofit providers offering a variety of services and support. Simply click on the type of assistance you are needing to expand the list. Visit each organization's website by clicking on the name of the organization.

Housing/Temporary Shelter
Long-Term Housing and Homeowners
  • Colorado Housing Connects (1-844-926-6632)
    • One-stop shop for housing resources for renters, homebuyers, homeowners, and landlords.
  • Metro West Housing Solutions (303-987-7580)
    • Offers affordable housing and housing vouchers in Lakewood.
  • Colorado Coalition for the Homeless (​303-293-2217)
    • Offer various affordable housing properties as well as permanent supportive housing for those experiencing homelessness.
  • Brothers Redevelopment (303-202-6340)
    • Offer affordable housing for rent. Offer home repairs through HMR Program and free home painting through Paint-A-Thon for qualified homeowners.
  • Habitat for Humanity of Metro Denver
    • Offer affordable homeownership opportunities. Also offer low-cost home repairs for eligible homeowners.
  • Elevation Community Land Trust (720-822-0052)
    • Offers $50,000 in down payment assistance to eligible households.

  • Volunteers of America (303-297-0408)
    • Various housing options including emergency shelter, transitional housing, and long-term affordable housing options. 
  • Family Tree (303-422-2133)
    • Homelessness services and transitional housing/shelter.
  • Mission Arvada (303-422-1174)
    • Day shelter and cold weather shelter (call 720-334-8584 to see if cold weather shelter is open).
  • The Delores Project
    • Emergency shelter with housing-focused case management.
  • Heading Home
    • List of shelters, cold weather shelters, homelessness navigation, and other housing resources.
Food, CLothing, and other essentials
  • Community Table
    • ​Client choice food pantry. Additional food programs for unhoused individuals, those aged 60+, and children. Offer free laundry every Friday from 9 AM - 3 PM. Offer free showers every Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday from 10 AM - 4 PM.
  • Food Bank of the Rockies (303-371-9250)
    • ​Offer mobile food pantries. Additional programs for children and those aged 60+.
  • Mission Arvada (303-422-1174)
    • Clothing bank, blankets, tents, etc. daily. Food bank each Saturday morning.
  • The Action Center (303-237-7704)
    • Offer a clothing market, free food market, and prepared food bags.
  • RecoveryWorks Navigation Center
    • Offers food, showers, laundry, and mail service. Also offers case management and housing navigation services as well as referrals to mental and primary health care.
  • Mountain Resource Center (serving Jeffco's mountain communities)
    • Offer free access to food market, cooking classes.
  • Foothills Animal Shelter (720-407-5244)
    • Better Together Program: keeps animals with their owners or reunites them. Services can include pet food, supplies, vaccination, and education.
  • Colorado Pet Pantry (303-818-0618)
    • Offer a pet food bank.
Monetary Assistance
  • State of Colorado's Emergency Rental Assistance
    • ​Offer up to 7 months or $10,000, whichever is lesser, of rental assistance to those who qualify. Pre-applications open monthly until funds are exhausted.
  • Energy Assistance (LEAP)
    • Available to eligible households each year between Nov. 1 and Apr. 30 to help pay for energy and heating costs.
  • Action Center (303-237-7704)
    • May provide rent and Xcel Energy assistance.
  • Jefferson County
    • ​Emergency financial help for rent, transportation, prescriptions, utilities, and burial/cremations. Only available once every 12 months to eligible Jeffco residents.
  • Mountain Resource Center (serving Jeffco's mountain communities)
    • Rent, mortgage, and utility assistance. Call 303-838-7552.
  • Benefits in Action (720-221-8354)
    • Help applying for public benefits such as SNAP and LEAP. Offer classes to better understand Connect for Health Colorado and Medicare.
domestic Violence and child services
  • PorchLight (720-853-8850)
    • ​Offers navigation and services from multiple agencies in one place to simplify process of getting support for survivors of DV, sexual assault, elder abuse, and child abuse. Some agencies on-site include DA's Office, Jefferson Center for Mental Health, Family Tree, and Thriving Families.
  • Family Tree (303-422-2133)
    • ​Services and shelter for survivors and their children. Additional services to prevent or overcome child abuse.
    • 24-hour DV crisis line: 303-420-6752
  • The Action Center (303-237-7704)
    • One-on-one family coaching and support groups.
  • Blue Bench (303-329-9922 ext. 302)
    • ​Offer support to survivors of sexual assault. They can help navigate the system, accompany and support survivors, and offer therapy.
    • 365/24/7 Crisis Hotline: 303-322-7273 (English), 303-329-0031 (Spanish)
  • A Precious Child (303-466-4272)
    • Visit their Empowerment Center for essentials such as school supplies, food, clothing, etc. Also offer mentorship, holiday gifts, financial support for sports and arts participation, etc.
  • Colorado Universal Pre-School
    • Offers 15 hours of school for free in the year before kindergarten. More hours may be available depending on qualifying factors and funding.
Older Adults and Those With disabilities
  • Seniors' Resource Center (303-238-8151)
    • Offer care management, adult day program, in-home care, chore and minor home upkeep services, and caregiver support.
  • Area Agency on Aging 
    • Offer resources for a variety of needs for older adults and those with disabilities including Medicare, transportation, assisted living, etc. 
  • Via Mobility Services (303-444-3043)
    • Offer door through door transportation to older adults and those with disabilities at no cost and for any reason (medical, errands, personal, etc.)
  • Meals on Wheels
    • Delivers meals to older adults unable to venture out of their home. Operated by various organizations, please visit their website and enter your zip code to find a provider near you.
  • Developmental Disabilities Resource Center (303-233-3363)
    • Offer support for those with developmental disabilities from birth to adulthood. Offer day programs, in-home support, employment services, recreation programs, and more.
  • Colorado Coalition for Elder Rights and Abuse Prevention (CCERAP)
    • Information and resources to prevent or treat elder abuse, neglect, or exploitation.

Mental and Physical health
  • Colorado Crisis Center - Call 1-844-493-TALK (8255)
    • ​Free support available 365/24/7. Call 1-844-493-TALK or text "Talk" to 38255. You can also visit any of their walk-in locations.
  • Jefferson Center for Mental Health (303-425-0300)
    • Offer a wide variety of mental and behavioral health support with focuses on counseling, psychiatry, substance use disorders, and crises. Services available to all ages from prenatal to older adult.
  • STRIDE (303-7STRIDE (303-778-7433))
    • ​Operate sliding scale health clinics and a mobile health clinic. Also offer diagnosis and treatment for infectious diseases, dentistry for those aged 60+, and a discount pharmacy for those without insurance.
  • Colorado Coalition for the Homeless (303-293-2217)
    • Offer various physical and mental health care services at clinics throughout Denver.
  • RecoveryWorks Navigation Center
    • ​Offers primary health care from STRIDE on-site Monday and Friday from 9 AM - 12 PM.

    • Offer dental and orthodontic care to eligible children at a 75% discount.

    • Job training program for anyone with prolonged absence from work force as well as an employment support for Veterans.

    • Wide range of job and career services, both for those employed and those unemployed.
Veterans

    • Offer a Veteran Service Center providing various supportive services including housing, employment, legal services, education, mental health, VA benefits, public benefits, volunteering, peer support and financial literacy.

State and National Programs
Mental Health Support - Call or text 988
Access free, confidential mental health support. Support is available to everyone, but, if relevant, there are also hotlines offered for specific needs.

Deaf, Hard of Hearing, and DeafBlind Communication Technology Programs
The State of Colorado provides free communications technology (amplified phones, smartphones, tablets, ring alerts, caption devices, etc.) to those who qualify. Click here to learn more and complete the application.

Lifeline

Jefferson County residents can sign up with Lookout Alert to receive critical notifications in cases of natural disasters or other emergencies.
